At Geneseo Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, We offer a wide variety of treatments and appliances so that you can get the care you need. We take pride in being a one-stop-shop for all your orthodontic or pediatric dental needs.
Cavities do occasionally happen. Children can’t always brush as well as they need to, and some people are just more prone to tooth decay than others. Cavities on baby teeth should be filled to prevent further decay. Your child will be able to eat and drink immediately after the procedure, and we do make it as painless as possible. We also offer iPads and headphones to watch movies because it makes the process more comfortable for many of our young patients.
In some cases, a cavity might be deep enough to impact the nerves of your child’s teeth, and a root canal might be the answer. There are some scenarios where this might be an optimal solution to keep the baby’s tooth a little longer. An infected tooth needs to be treated. The choice between extraction and root canal will depend on the damage and situation for that child.
Crowns might be recommended if your child has a root canal or if the tooth needs to be protected from further decay.
Tooth extractions are done as painlessly as possible. We offer iPads, headphones, and movies to help comfort your child. We also offer nitrous oxide to make your child as comfortable as possible during the procedure.
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a treatment option that can help prevent cavities from growing. It’s sometimes used as an alternative to fillings or crowns.
Appliances can be created to help curb habits that will ruin your child’s teeth. Some of these appliances include things to prevent tongue thrusting or nail-biting.
When a child has lost a tooth prematurely, a space maintainer might be recommended to keep teeth from moving out of alignment.
Teeth should be both healthy and beautiful. We offer whitening treatments to make sure that your teeth look their best, too.
Nitrous Oxide is used in more invasive procedures, such as an extraction, to help maintain comfort.
