At Geneseo Orthodontic and Pediatric Dentistry, we’re always looking forward to meeting our new patients. Our goal is to help you get to know us during this visit while we get to know you and your unique dental needs in a relaxed, comfortable environment.
Your first visit with us is an excellent opportunity to ask any questions you may have about our office, our dental team, and our treatment options. Because our office is still relatively new, we take a lot of pride in offering some of the most state-of-the-art equipment and treatments in the field while maintaining a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for patients of all ages.
So, what exactly can you expect from your first visit with Dr. Michael Molisani or Dr. Adam Ungaro? This will depend a bit on whether you’re coming in for a complimentary orthodontic consultation or a pediatric dentistry consultation. We’ll cover each below so you can get a better feel for what to expect at your appointment!
Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation
If you’re considering braces, whether it be for yourself or for your child, we’re here to help. Dr. Michael Molsani is our dedicated orthodontist on-staff, and he’ll be the one you meet during your initial consultation. Dr. Molsani has been practicing for nine years and enjoys helping patients achieve their dream smiles. As a father of two young children himself, he enjoys working with kids to make their orthodontic experience as stress-free as possible.
During an initial orthodontic consultation, we’ll begin by taking a series of photos and/or dental X-rays as needed. These, along with a brief orthodontic exam, will help us determine which treatment options are best suited for your needs. During this consultation, we can also review your dental insurance coverage (where applicable) to help you get a better feel for your out-of-pocket and covered costs.
By the end of your free consultation, you’ll be informed of your available treatment options, which may range from traditional braces to Invisalign or even braces with clear brackets. Regardless of which treatment plan is best for you, our orthodontic team has the experience, resources, and tools to achieve the best results.
Preparing for Your Pediatric Dentistry Appointment
By the age of one year old, we recommend that your child has his or her first dental visit. Our dedicated pediatric dentist, Dr. Adam Ungaro, is board-certified and has extensive experience working with young children to help them feel as comfortable as possible at their appointments.
There are many reasons why you may be bringing your child in for a pediatric dentistry appointment or consultation. Perhaps your child has simply never been to the dentist before and needs his or her first dental check-up—or maybe you’ve noticed an abnormality on one of your child’s teeth that you want to have evaluated. Regardless, our friendly and compassionate team is here to help.
We understand that many young children are anxious about coming to the dentist for the first time, which is why we go out of our way to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. This includes maintaining a welcoming and kid-friendly lobby and waiting room, as well as allowing a parent to accompany small children through many procedures.
During your child’s first pediatric dentistry appointment with us, we will typically recommend a comprehensive examination that includes X-rays and photographs. If you’ve brought your child in for a specific dental concern, we will address this (as well as present any treatment options) during this appointment. If further treatment is recommended, we’re also happy to review your insurance benefits and provide you with a general timeline and cost breakdown of your estimated out-of-pocket expenses.
Depending on the recommended course of action, we may be able to offer same-day treatment for basic services such as fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and even dental fillings. If a same-day appointment is not available, our team will do our best to work with your busy schedule.
We also like to use our pediatric appointments to help your child instill excellent dental hygiene habits, which may include demonstrating proper brushing habits and flossing techniques. Ultimately, our goal is to instill a lifetime of great oral hygiene for your little one!
Whether you’re in need of an orthodontic consultation or a pediatric dentistry appointment, our caring and compassionate team is here for you and your loved ones!
